Sony has released new firmware updates for the Sony A7 and A7r full frame mirrorless cameras. Firmware Update V1.02 for Sony A7 and A7r is now available for download. See the download links below.
Sony A7 and A7r firmware update v1.02 includes the most important addition of “the image quality improvement of the cameras. Other details as follows.
This firmware also adds support for Fast AF (Hybrid in the case of the A7) and the focus hold buttons on the 70-200 F4 FE lens.

Improvements after firmware upgrade
- Provides support for SEL70200G
– Improves auto focus speed
– Adds functions including the “Focus hold button” - Reduces start-up time
– The start-up time has been reduced in cases when the camera is switched on immediately after being switched off. - Improves image quality
- Provides support for additional ”Play Memories Camera Apps” and additional features for previously supported apps.
