Canon Patent for New 17-40mm and 16-35mm Lenses

Egami has spotted a new patent filed by Canon. The new patent describes the 17-40mm and 16-35mm lenses with apertures between f/2.8 and f/4.

This patent shows various wide angle optical designs and all of these lenses appear to be full frame. New 16-35mm and 17-40mm lenses could possibly be the replacements of the EF 17-40 f/4L and EF 16-35 f/2.8L II.

See below for the machine translated patent details.
