Sony is rumored to be working on a new product called lens-camera. This is revolutionary product and a rumor that Sony is building a camera lens with a built-in image sensor. This lens also could be paired with a smartphone to create an interchangeable lens camera.
According to SAR, the first lens-camera is expected to be released soon with a built-in RX100M2 camera sensor and a Zeiss lens. There will also will be a second model with smaller sensor and larger zoom.
The above image is a “lens-camera” transmits the images via NFC and Wi-Fi technology to the smartphone or tablet. You can mount it on the smartphone and also use it separately as a lens camera. You will see the live view images on your mobile device.
SAR says this is a highly trusted rumor and the Sony lenses with built-in imaging sensor, battery and memory could be announced soon. Stay tuned for updates.
