Fujifilm continues to make product announcements as planned. The company’s next product will be the XF 18mm f/1.4 as outlined in its previously announced lens roadmap. According to reliable sources, the Fujinon XF18mmF1.4 announcement is very close. In fact, it is said that this fast wide-angle prime lens will be announced on April 15th.

The Fujifilm X-mount Lens Roadmap shows the addition of a wide-angle and a telephoto zoom lens. It has already been stated that these will be the XF 18mm f/1.4 lens and the XF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 OIS lens. As you know, we met the XF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 OIS lens earlier this year. Now we have the XF 18mm f/1.4 lens and we will soon be acquainted with this wide angle lens.

What We Know About Fujifilm XF 18mm f/1.4 lens

This is a new addition to a group of large-diameter prime lenses, popular for their exceptional descriptive performance with the ability to produce beautiful bokeh. Its highly versatile 18mm focal length (equivalent to 27mm in the 35mm format) and large maximum aperture of F1.4 make it a perfect choice for snapshots and landscape photography.

Prime wide-angle lens will be  designed for APS-C-format FUJIFILM X-mount mirrorless cameras and provides a 27mm equivalent focal length.
Bright f/1.4 maximum aperture suits working in difficult lighting conditions and also affords greater control over depth of field.
