The camera is capable of 8 fps continuous shooting with the mechanical shutter, 20 fps rate with an electronic shutter, or a 30 fps rate with an electronic shutter and a 1.25x crop, and it supports DCI/UHD 4K video recording at up to 30 fps and Full HD recording up to 240 fps for ultra slow-motion playback.
If you’re trying to decide which one to buy as your first camera, it’s most direct competitors to be the Nikon Z50, the Sony a6400 and the Canon EOS M6 Mark II. Just a side note if you add $150 USD to the X-E4’s MSRP you can get into Fujifilm’s X-S10; that camera has very similar core features to the X-E4, but adds in-body image stabilization and a bigger grip.
The Fujifilm X-E4 is scheduled to start shipping on March 11, 2021, and it is expected to be one of the hot selling mirrorless cameras in 2021.
