Olympus filed a new patent in Japan. The patent application describes a Olympus 8-24mm f/4 lens designed for Micro Four Thirds system mirrorless cameras.

The focal length of 8-24mm and constant aperture of f/4 is intended for the most important range of wide angle shots. This means if becomes in mass production this Olympus 8-24mm f/4 lens would be and ideal choice for landscape photography.

This will also be a pro-grade constant aperture lens for enthusiasts and professional photographers that need an ultra wide-angle zoom lens. It will be equivalent of 16-48mm in 35mm terms.
