Nikon Z-Noct-Nikkor 58mm f/0.95 lens is on the horizon and fast-prime optic rumored for January 2019 release.

Previous reports suggests that the goal of the new Nikon Z Noct Nikkor 58mm f/0.95 lens is to beat the Zeiss Otus performance. As a result the upcoming Noct is more of a proof of concept for Nikon to show what this mount could do in terms of image quality and speed.

The Nikon Photographer Yusuf Kathawala at Instagram posted two pictures of the Nikon Z-Noct-Nikkor 58mm f/0.95 lens and claimed that the official release will probably be in January 2019. More Nikon Z-Noct-Nikkor 58mm f/0.95 Lens coverage after the break!

Nikon Z-Noct-Nikkor 58mm f/0.95 Lens Coming in January 2019?

Nikon has serious plans for the next three years of Z-mount lenses. According to the Nikon Z-Nikkor lens roadmap, they will release six lenses in 2019six more in 2020 and eight in 2021. This will make the lineup a total of 20 lenses for Nikon Z-system.

The most exciting one is sure the NIKKOR Z 58mm f/0.95 S NOCT lens which the company claims will have the ‘highest rendering performance’ and ‘flawless transitions’ between in- and out-of-focus areas, and will be manual focus only. It will use ultra-high refractive index aspherical elements, a new ARNEO anti-reflection coating and its physical design will feature a small display panel that will display aperture, focal length and depth-of-field.
