Sony has announced its new full-frame telephoto lenses: the FE 200-600mm f/5.6-6.3 G OSS and FE 600mm f/4 GM OSS prime.
The FE 200-600 F5.6-6.3 G OSS has 24 elements, including aspherical and extra-low dispersion glass. The 200-600 is 318mm (1ft) long and weighs in at 2.1kg (4.9lbs) without its tripod foot attached.
The 600mm also has 24 elements and among them are ‘extreme aspherical’ (XA), fluorite and ED glass. There are a pair of XD linear motors to drive the focusing group quickly and quietly. The lens supports 40.5mm drop-in filters and has the same three-mode IS system as the 200-600mm. The minimum focus distance on the lens is 4.5m (< 15ft), with a maximum magnification of 0.14x.
