DxOMark has posted their test results for the Sony FE 70-200mm f/4 G OSS mirrorless lens. They reviewed the standart zoom lens which is currently priced for $1,498 and the lens had a very good score for a zoom like this.

Sony FE 70-200mm f/4 G OSS lens scored 27 points and this is slightly higher overall score and the lens was tested with the Sony A7r full frame mirrorless camera.

The Sony FE 70-200mm f/4.0 G OSS lens is a full-frame E-mount lens with a short to medium telephoto zoom range with an equivalent focal length of 105-300mm on APS-C cameras. The lens will work on both full frame and APS-C sensor E-mount cameras especially for the popular Sony A7 and A7r models.

The Sony’s performance is very good and sharpness levels are very high, and even though it can’t quite match the best in class – the Nikkor 70-200mm f4 – at 200mm, it’s still unlikely to disappoint. Coming bundled with a tripod collar, the Sony even slightly undercuts the rival Nikkor model, making the FE 70-200mm f4G OSS look good value without compromising on quality or practical features.
