DJI, JCD, and FLOVEL Officially joins the Micro Four Thirds system

Olympus and Panasonic have announced that Chinese drone manufacturer DJI, Guangzhou-based JCD (GuangZhou) Optical and FLOVEL, a Japanese company designing the cutting-edge optical equipment, have joined the Micro Four Thirds system.

DJI is a Chinese company established in 2006 that designs, produces and sells high performance flying platforms, flight controllers, aerial gimbals for cameras in addition to the most popular ready to fly quadcopters with built-in cameras and handheld gimbals for filmmaking professionals.

JCD (GuangZhou) Optical is a GuangZhou-based company established in 1999 that designs and produces cameras and lenses for still cameras and camcorders. FLOVEL is a Japanese company established in 1968, that designs, produces and constructs the system for the super high sensitivity cameras and shooting system in the medical and bio-science field.

Olympus Imaging Corp. and Panasonic Corporation jointly announced the Micro Four Thirds System standard in 2008 and have since been working together to promote the standard. Now we are pleased to announce that three more companies have recently declared their support for the standard and will be introducing products compliant with the Micro Four Thirds System standard.

DJI(SZ DJI Technology CO., Ltd.), the leading company in the drone (multi-copter), JCD(GuangZhou) Optical Co.,,Ltd., a Chinese based optical company designing and producing the optics with the Japanese quality, FLOVEL CO.,LTD., a Japanese company designing the cutting-edge optical equipment, join the Micro Four Thirds System standard group.

With the addition of exciting new products from these companies, the Micro Four Thirds lineup will become much more diverse, further increasing the potential of this advanced digital imaging system.

As the company responsible for initiating both the Four Thirds System and Micro Four Thirds System standards, Olympus Imaging Corp. will continue to develop and enhance the product line-up for both standards to meet the diverse needs of our customers.
