Canon has a new patent application for a new macro lens. The new patent describes the EF-M 55mm f/3.5 lens designed for Canon mirrorless cameras with APS-c sized  sensors.

The Canon EF-M 55mm f/3.5 macro lens comes with a maximum aperture of f/3.5. Canon is working seriously on the EOS M system, see the similar optical formula deisgned for Canon full-frame mirrorless system.
