More details of the upcoming Canon EOS 80D DSLR camera has been leaked online.

According to latest Canon rumors, the company considering to put a new 28MP to 34MP APS-C image sensor to the mid-level EOS 80D DSLR. See previously leaked low-credibility specs.

The Canon EOS 70D DSLR was announced back in July, 2013 and the upcoming 70D replacement announcement could be in late 2015 to early 2016.

The rumor mill also in talks of a possible faster kit lens option to the next releases of APS-C camera bodies. The recent patent for an EF-S 15-50mm f/2.8-4 IS could be a great potential to come along with the EOS 80D DSLR.

The Canon EOS 70D DSLR comes with a 20.2MP “Dual Pixel CMOS AF” sensor and features 19-point AF module from the EOS 7D for viewfinder shooting, touch screen control via its fully articulated 3¨ LCD, and built-in Wi-Fi. The EOS 70D DSLR camera body is selling for $999.
