By on

PicsArt has released an update to the free PicsArt Photo Studio app.

The new version gives users the ability to work with significantly higher resolution images, share .GIF files, and save drafts of edited images on PicsArt.com.

“Creative inspiration can come from anywhere, that’s why PicsArt focuses on giving creatives the tools they need wherever they find inspiration,” says Hovhannes Avoyan, founder of PicsArt.

The app is available on Amazon, Google PlayiTunes, the Windows Store and the Windows Phone Store.

PicsArt Empowers Worlds’ Largest Creative Community To Beautify Their World Through High Resolution Content and .GIFS In Latest iOS and Android App Update

San Francisco, Calif. – March 26, 2015 – PicsArt, the largest mobile community empowering creatives to make beautiful images, is giving users the ability to work with significantly higher resolution images, share .GIF files, and save drafts of edited images on PicsArt. This update follows a recent $10M funding deal with Sequoia Capital and further cements PicsArt’s position as the most powerful tool out there for mobile photographers.

Now PicsArt will support 8 megapixel images, up from 3 megapixels previously, to match the sensor size of today’s popular smartphone cameras. More megapixels means higher resolution images, so pictures stay vivid and lifelike even after they are uploaded to the PicsArt app.

This is great news for PicsArt’s more than 60 million monthly active users, including a mix of casual and professional photographers and artists, who help carry out PicsArt’s mission of beautifying the world. Now, the 5 million+ images edited and shared through PicsArt every day will pose an even starker contrast to the grainy, watered down images that muddy news feeds across the internet.

Furthermore, images edited and enhanced through PicsArt can now be printed at 300dpi (dots per inch) an industry standard that enables works to be submitted for contests or professional work. The support for 8MP images is just one more reason for professionals to ditch the desktop editor and keep shooting with PicsArt.

“Creative inspiration can come from anywhere, that’s why PicsArt focuses on giving creatives the tools they need wherever they find inspiration,” began Hovhannes Avoyan, founder of PicsArt. “The adage goes – the best camera is the one you have. Well we think that is true for editing tools too, it just doesn’t make sense for the modern photographer to be tied to 25-year-old desktop tools when they can capture edit and share images in seconds with PicsArt.”

PicsArt users will now also have a new way to express themselves – through .gif’s. PicsArt users will be able to upload and share their favorite .gifs directly through the app as they would a picture from their camera roll or the cloud. Images being edited can now also be saved as a draft, so users can step away from a work and come back to it later.

Start beautifying your world today by downloading the PicsArt app from the App Store, Google Play, Amazon or Windows. To learn more, go to http://www.PicsArt.com.
