Panasonic FZ1000 Firmware Update 2.0 Released

Panasonic has released a new firmware update for the Lumix DMC-FZ1000 superzoom bridge camera.

The firmware version 2.0 released to enhance the performance and controllability of the camera, featuring new 4K Photo Mode.

With the new firmware update, Panasonic FZ1000 gains a 4K Photo Mode, which automatically sets shooting parameters optimized for stills and allows 4K capture in a variety of aspect ratios. Other changes include the addition of 4K video recording at 23.98p in MP4/AAC mode and three new shutter release sounds.

Panasonic FZ1000 Firmware Update 2.0 Details

1. [4K PHOTO] mode is added which records 4K video exclusively for capturing a frame to save as a photo.

• Settings can be adjusted as below when entering this mode.
  • Rec Format : MP4
  • Rec Quality : 4K/30p/100Mbps [NTSC], 4K/25p/100Mbps [PAL]
  • Luminance Level:0-255
• In addition to 16:9 aspect, 4:3/3:2/1:1 can be selected.
• Exif information is embedded to the captured image from the 4K video.
• Marking function is available enables marker setting on the designated point while recording video and users can jump to the markers when playing back the video to capture the frame they want.

2. 4K/24p/100Mbps mode is added in MP4 video recording.

3. [Shutter Tone] is added to [BEEP] menu.

Panasonic FZ1000 features a 20.1 megapixel 1-inch MOS sensor, 16x optical zoom lens which has an F2.8-4.0 aperture range, 0.09 second auto-focusing speed, a 2,359k OLED Live View Finder (LVF) and a 3-inch 921-K dot LCD display.
