IF the 6.5FPS is true then Nikon can go to hell. They have deliberately crippled the camera in an effort to get more money from an expensive battry grip to get 8FPS. I was really hoping this would be the camera to upgrade from my D90 but Nikon have failed again.
I will be watching closely the Canon 7DMkII specs…

As a mostly Nikon user since 1968, I’m angry also. However, I’m kind of proud of my decision earlier in the year to buy a Sony A77 II ( 24 MP, 12 FPS at max aperture, 50+ jpg buffer, flexible spot auto focus) with the incredible 70-400 II. For sports, it’s everything that the D7100 isn’t but I do like my D7100 better for non-action photography. Unfortunately, I do have a lot of very expensive Nikon mount telephotos which I have to use with my D300, excellent years ago, because Nikon still doesn’t sell a fast, action, cropped frame, sports body.
