RONKONKOMA, N.Y. — (BUSINESS WIRE) — Sigma Corporation of America, a leading researcher, developer, manufacturer and service provider of some of the world’s most impressive lines of lenses, cameras and flashes, today announced the launch of the new “Try Before You Buy” loaner program that offers consumers the opportunity to test a dp2 Quattro camera – before it’s available to purchase in stores.

“The ‘Test Shoot: Try Before You Buy’ program is a bold and unique initiative from Sigma and for the photo industry,” said Christine Moossmann, director of marketing for Sigma Corporation of America. “It gives consumers an opportunity to shoot with the dp2 Quattro camera and experience, first hand, the amazing images the camera and the new Quattro sensor produce. There are so many camera options out there and we’d like to make the buying process more personal. There’s no better way to understand the capabilities of the dp2 Quattro than to spend time shooting with it.”

Sigma announced the dp Quattro series in February of this year, with each of the three cameras in the series featuring a redesigned camera body and Foveon “Quattro” Direct Image sensor, which is equivalent to a Bayer 39 MP conventional sensor in resolution testing. The dp2 Quattro camera, priced at $999 and the first camera in the series, utilizes a fixed 30mm 2.8 standard lens that is specifically designed and optimized to pair with the Quattro sensor and create images of exceptional sharpness and detail.

Details of the program include:
