Sony A7 and A7r Full Frame Camera Specifications [NEX-FF]

Sony will announce two new full frame NEX e-mount mirrorless cameras called Sony A7 and A7r. Sony A7 and A7r specifications leaked and the A7 / A7r full frame cameras to be announced on October 16.

Recent rumors from SAR updates the specs list of both Sony A7 and A7r cameras. According to the Sony A7 and A7r specifications list both full frame cameras will not have on body sensor stabilization.  After Sony decided to go for the Olympus OM-D like design. Both Sony A7 and A7R cameras will look like more OM-D.

Sony A7 / A7R will have weathersealed body grip and optional vertical grip. Both cameras have have eye tracking AF and focus peaking. Sony A7 and A7R AF speed is faster than the RX series but still not as fast as the best in the mirrorless camera world. New full frame cameras include Wi-Fi and NFC with tiltable screen and 1/8000 shutter speed.

Sony A7 Specs

Sony A7 is expected to feature a 24MP on sensor PDAF has AA filter, built-in EVF (middle of the camera) and weather sealed. Sony A7 price will be around $1,600 – $1,700 to compete against the entry-level Nikon D600 and Canon 6D full frame DSLRs. Sony A7 with Sony FE 28-70mm f/3-5-5.6 kit lens price under $2,000.

Sony A7r Specs

The Sony A7r will be the high-end NEX-FF camera model. Sony A7r will feature 36MP full frame sensor and no PDAF and AA filter on sensor. it also has no Anti Aliasing filter just like the Nikon D800E. The high-end A7r camera is expected to be priced around $2,500.

Sony A7 and A7r Coming with New Lenses

Sony NEX full frame E-mount mirrorless camera system rumored to come with four new lenses. Sony G FE 28-70mm f/3.5-5.6 will be the standart kit lens of the upcoming Sony A7 and A7r full framecameras. The price will be $300 when purchased with the NEX-FF cameras. Sony G FE 28-70mm f/3.5-5.6 lens will be available in camera stores in November.

The second kit lens Zeiss FE 24-70mm f/4.0 OSS lens will be the only “low-priced” lens of the FE range when bought as kit lens with the A7 and A7r cameras. Zeiss FE 24-70mm f/4.0 OSS lens will be available in early 2014.

The other Zeiss lenses expected to be announced with the A7 and A7r cameras are the Zeiss 35mm f/2.8 prime and the Zeiss FE 55mm f/1.8 lenses.
