By on

New Panasonic GM1 ultra compact micro four thirds camera announcement expected on October 17. Panasonic GM1 will have a ultra compact size close to Sony’s RX100 model.

According to sources that this will be Panasonic’s answer to the high-end compact cameras with fixed lens in the market. The new GM1’s biggest feature is its size but also the thin and small camera will have a mount for interchangeable lenses.

The GM1 will also feature  a new type of hybrid shutter between electronic and mechanical. It is not clear yet but the expectation is that the new compact MFT camera may use G6 sensor to keep the price low.
